Our Impact

Testimonies

National Pastoral Migratoria’s transformative impact extends far beyond individual immigrants directly involved, touching the lives of communities they mutually support, as well as the Church, organizations, and society as a whole.

Cardinal Blase Cupich, Archbishop of Chicago
Instituto Nacional Pastoral Migratoria 2023

The work of Pastoral Migratoria is of great importance to the renewal of the Church. It is an honor that recent guidelines issued by the Holy See point to Pastoral Migratoria as a model for intercultural migrant ministry. In the preface of this document… Pope Francis urges the Catholic faithful to live out a new Pentecost in our neighborhoods and parishes as a missionary Church that reaches out to those needing help, the discarded, and the oppressed – towards the ever wider 'we'... I want to commend you for living out that call through Pastoral Migratoria…”

Rev. Eric Cruz, Catholic Charities of New York
Keep Hope Alive 2020 Benefit

“…Pastoral Migratoria: What a beautiful initiative and movement of the Holy Spirit. I was so excited, I shared Pastoral Migratoria with several pastors of immigrant parishes, and they were excited. We had to take this to Cardinal Dolan [Archbishop of the Archdiocese of New York], who welcomed us with open arms and said, ‘Absolutely, let us embark together on this mission of evangelization, newness and transformation.’ That’s Pastoral Migratoria: Helping immigrants discover the beauty and gifts that God has planted in them...”

Jose Sandoval, Pastoral Migratoria Leader
St. Rita Parish, Chicago

Pastoral Migratoria brings the community all together to help find answers people are seeking through workshops and resources, such as citizenship, citizenship preparation, homelessness, lack of food, domestic violence, mental health…   It feels nice to be able to help people, and that’s what keeps bringing you back; because you don’t just see people as just an individual but as family. And you want to be able to help them, so they can be the very best person they can be and the best person they can be for the community.”
